Duties and Order mode
Duties
The Studienprogrammleitung (SPL) plan the teaching programme and decide on study law and study organisation. Some of their duties:
- Information and advisory activities (together with the ÖH and the advisory services of the University of Vienna)
- Issuing certificates of degrees and diploma supplements
- Official recognition of examinations and formation of examination senates
- Reports as part of the admission to studies
- Planning and organization of the courses and examinations in one or more fields of study (curriculum)
- Implementation of quality assurance measures in the study and teaching areas
Oder mode
The SPL are appointed by the Rectorate on the recommendation of the Dean's Office (after consulting the Senate and the Faculty Conference). The term of office lasts two years; reappointments are possible. Academic employees of the University of Vienna who are appropriately proven in research and teaching can be appointed to lead the study program. In order to fulfill their tasks, the SPL can be partially relieved of their duties in research and teaching.
